Before sunrise in the Kakamega rainforest. The rainforest are the lungs of the world. There is one left in Kenya. The pressures to exploit it are many...... Growing population, local politicians, conflicting authorities, commercial interests and lack of national coordination.

Monday morning rush out of Homa Bay town, for the white
collar middle class! For us it is 4th week on the jeeplines.

In Africa everything can happen! Sitting on the veranda after a day with lots patients the team of Judy Akinyi asks us if we could be part of Watangs next musicvideo! So what happens - after short, our veranda is filled with music and people shooting her next video!

Perfect weather for Safari in Masai Mara over the weekend. The great feeling of "Out of Africa" is so close!

 
 

8th of July, Africa today:
Enjoying the Nyanza Music & Dance Festival after work with my best friend sister Caroline. Lots of joy & lots of rhythm!

 
 

13th of July, Africa today:
Reflecting after work at Tourist Hotel at Lake Victoria. One Tusker and some Samosas in the evening breeze are perfect.

 

16th of July, Africa today:
Leaving Homa Bay, "Partir, c'est mourir un peu", Bye bye to all friendly and nice people, wishes of seeing each other again!

 

16th of July, Africa today:
Boarding in the velvet African night at Kenyatta Airport,
Nairobi for Europe.

17th of July,
Back in Europe, Sunday 0700 am, Amsterdam, Shiphold,
overcast, 14 degrees Celsius....
Africa is still there - in my mind!
